Endearing tales of coexistence
Approximately 100 blackbucks, fond of sandy topography and coastal sand dunes, find a haven within the protected terrain, adding to the sanctuary's allure.
Each year, the Indian Coast Guard initiates "Operation Olivia" to safeguard Olive Ridley turtles during their crucial breeding and nesting season, spanning from November to December along the Odisha coast. Witness the dedication of these guardians of the sea as they protect these gentle creatures.
From November 2020 to May 2021, the Coast Guard devoted 225 ship days and 388 aircraft hours to protect a staggering 349,000 sea turtles nesting on Odisha's shores. Such devotion is a testament to the sanctity of life within the sanctuary's embrace.
