A symphony of feathers
Uppalapadu Bird Sanctuary stands out with its rich diversity. Over 40 migratory and resident bird species - such as graceful pelicans, elegant painted storks, majestic ibis, and charming spoonbills - call this sanctuary their home. Originally established as an enclosure for endangered spot-billed pelicans back in 1991, today these pelicans flourish there and it serves as an important breeding ground for grey herons and painted storks alike.
