From Ranichi Bagh to Jijamata Udyan:
Jijamata Udyan was established in 1861 and stands as one of India's oldest zoos. Originally, this sprawling 48-acre space was known as Ranichi Bagh - meaning Queen's Gardens - until being rechristened Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan and Zoo. Witnessing generations of Mumbai history unfold, this landmark zoo remains evolving today.
Jijamata Udyan Zoo offers more than animal exhibits - while exploring, be sure to stop and marvel at the vibrant aviary, home to vibrant and noisy birds of many hues and species. Also be sure not to miss its impressive botanical garden, home to nearly 3,000 tree species including many rare and valuable varieties.
