The Mall

One of the busiest locations in the city is the Mall. Bustling with visitors and shoppers, the Mall is home to the famous Kasauli Club. It is divided into two areas: the Upper and the Lower Mall. The Upper Mall area is surrounded by heritage buildings and scenic views, and is an ideal location to soak in the natural beauty and culture of the region. Walk along the 2.5 km long road and indulge in some shopping, while admiring picturesque views. The Lower Mall plays host to a number of eateries and shops selling Tibetan handicrafts and products. The Mall, between Christ Church on one end and Monkey Point on the other, is the busiest area of the town, especially during the months between April and June and then between September and January. Entry of vehicles is barred on the Mall Road.

Timber Trail

Spread over two hills, Timber Trail is a popular tourist stopover located in Parwanoo, about 30 km from Kasauli. Perched on a mountain top, it is surrounded by picturesque pine forests, cut by the meandering Kaushalya river. One can reach this quaint spot via a cable car ride that offers breathtaking views of the nearby hills, deep gorges and big rocks. Open between 9 am and 5 pm, the ropeway covers a 1.8 km distance in around 10 minutes and the experience of riding in the cable car that brushes past sky-high pine trees is truly magnificent. The car can carry about 10-12 people at a time. From Timber Trail, one can get splendid views of the sunset, while enjoying open-air terrace dining.

Sunset Point

One of the best places to get panoramic views of the landscape as the sun sets is the Sunset Point. It is also popular among sky-gazers and astronomers as one gets a clear view of constellations and stars at night. Set amidst pine-lined vistas, scenic valleys and picturesque trails, the point is an ideal spot to drink in natural beauty. Tourists can also enjoy nature walks at Lover's Lane, which is a quiet pathway, cutting through breathtaking scenery.
