Ramkund is perhaps the holiest spot in the city as it is believed that Lord Rama used to bathe here. It is located along the Godavari river. The locals believe that bathing in the waters of Ramkund purifies ones soul and allows him to start afresh, with a more positive and benevolent outlook.

Ramkund often becomes the venue for the famous Kumbh Mela that is held in the city every 12 years. Devotees also believe that immersing the ashes of their dead here would give them peace in their afterlife.

Every day, tourists come here to bathe in the purifying waters and hope for absolution from their sins. The ghats also offer a lovely view of the city of Nashik, especially at dawn, when the warm glow of the sun seems to glorify everything it touches, making for an incredible site.
