Constructed on the backwaters of River Narmada, the Choral Dam is one of the best kept secrets of Madhya Pradesh that makes for a perfect picnic spot. The dam attracts nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts with its serene surroundings and tranquil vibes. Sunrises and sunsets are quite beautiful at the dam when different hues of the sky make for an amazing backdrop for the lush green trees. Visitors can also enjoy a ride in a speed or paddle boat between 9 am and 6 pm everyday. The dam is mainly used for irrigation as well as drinking purposes but still serves as a great place to unwind in the lap of nature. The Choral Dam is located at a distance of 45 km from Indore and can be easily reached from other parts of the state as well.
Also called the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Park, this unique park welcomes you with a glass building that has an urban aura. As you walk on neat walkways made from multi-coloured tiles dotted with palm trees, you are enveloped by the serenity of the spot. Sprawling over an area of around 120 acre, the park has been developed by the Indore Development Authority and draws visitors for its beautiful musical fountains and lush gardens. The best spots in the garden include the French gardens, the biodiversity park and an amazing artists' village. The modern park serves as a great picnic spot. The park also houses a pristine lake where you can spend quality leisure time. Children would find the Bhul Bhulaiya or the maze in the park quite fascinating.
