Kachori

A round flattened ball made with fine flour is stuffed with a baked mixture of yellow moong or urad dal, besan, black pepper, red chilli powder, salt and other spices, to make this delicious street-snack.

Spicy, crunchy, tangy and sour-sweet chaat can be relished in Ayodhya. The delicacies include pani puri, a crisp fried puri served with tamarind water; kachori, fried and spicy dumpling; aloo tikki, a preparation of boiled potatoes, peas and various spices; papri chaat, a tangy snack served with crisp fried wafers with a topping of yoghurt, tamarind and sev; samosa, fried puffed pastry eaten with chutney.

Served on religious or festive occasions, laddoos are ball-shaped sweets made with flour and sugar.
