In the heart of Mangalore, lies the shrine of Sufi saint Hazrath Saidani Bibi, which draws scores of pilgrims belonging to all faiths. The Sufi saint was a family member of a soldier in Tipu Sultan's army and was highly respected by the warrior class and locals of Mangalore. She was buried in the military area and today, the dargah stands adjacent to the City Police Headquarters, which once served as military barracks. Interestingly, the maintenance of the dargah is handled by retired and serving police officials of the city, since Saint Saidani Bibi belonged to the family of a soldier. It is also the only dargah dedicated to a woman in southern Karnataka or Dakshina Kannada. Located near the AB Shetty Circle, the dargah draws visitors with its peaceful vibe and splendid architecture. The white walls of the dargah are adorned with intricate designs painted in green. It is a must-visit destination during a trip to Mangalore.
