A one-of-its-kind park in Asia, Shivalik Fossil Park Museum is home to about 2.5 million years old fossils of vertebrates from the region of Shivalik. Sprawled over an area of 1.5 sq km, the museum was opened in 1974. The highlights here are life-size models of extinct mammals that are made of resins and fibreglass. You can also find exhibits of limbs and skulls of tortoises, gharials, crocodiles, hippos and tusks of over 20 elephant species.
