Located on a hill slope on Senapati Bapat road, this temple, it is said, was built during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji. The Chaturshringi Devasthan (temple) trustees look after this temple. Since the actual place of worship is located at an uphill climb; to make the walk easier on devotees, landings have been created every few steps, and water is readily available as well. Fountains and a waterfall can be seen on the premises. For those looking to stay for longer and meditate, dharamshalas (living quarters) have been constructed. The temple sees a massive influx of devotees during Navratri, the Hindu festival observed for nine days. During this time, the dharamshalas fill up quickly, with visitors coming from all over India for darshan (holy views).
