This charming sanctuary and retreat is adjacent to the more famous Pench National Park. The main highlight of the sanctuary is the bison that attracts many tourists. Spread over an area of 275 sq km, one can avail sightings of wildlife like cheetal, nilgai, sambar, jackals and most importantly, tigers. Besides, the sanctuary shelters about 210 varieties of birds, 3 species of amphibians, 13 types of reptiles and 39 species of mammals. The Pench National Park can make for the second leg of the journey, with 90 per cent of its area falling in Madhya Pradesh and the rest in Maharashtra. Tourists can club the visits to the two and have a grand time experiencing wildlife amidst quiet and serene surroundings.
