Ziarat of Baba Reshi is a shrine located below the slopes of Gulmarg. It is the tomb of a famous Muslim saint, Baba Payam-Uddin, who died in 1480. The shrine was built in the 13th century. The saint is said to be a former courtier of the Kashmir king, Zain-ul-Abidin. Later on, he renounced his worldly ties and adopted sainthood after closely observing ants hard at work one day. The shrine is quite popular among devotees who come here in flocks. It can be reached both from Gulmarg and Tangmarg, and is situated at a height of 7,000 ft.

The shrine boasts some attractive woodwork and is famous for granting the wish for children. Thus, it is thronged by childless women who cry and offer prayers here. As per tradition, the children thus born have to take a vow of celibacy and stay attached to the shrine for life.
