The All India Institute of Ayurveda is considered to be the apex centre for the ancient Indian science of Ayurveda. It was set up with an aim to impart Ayurvedic treatment and therapies to people. The institute stands for the revival of traditional Ayurvedic practices that heal ailments without any side effects. The institute has a 200-bed referral hospital, along with 25 speciality departments and 12 clinics with eight inter-disciplinary labs. The aim of the institute is to promote medical treatment through Ayurveda.
The institute combines ancient sciences with modern technology and also offers postgraduate courses in various disciplines of Ayurveda. Moreover, it focuses on research on quality control, drug development, safety evaluation, standardisation and scientific validation of Ayurveda.
