Narad Kund lies a stone's throw from the famous Tapt Kund. It is one of the most important points of the Badrinath yatra (pilgrimage). Devotees often take a dip in this hot water spring before going to worship at the temple of Lord Badrinath. According to mythology, it is believed that Adi Shankaracharya had discovered the idol of Lord Vishnu in the Narad Kund hot spring. Located on the left side of the Badrinath Temple, the kund gets its hot water from the Gauri Shila, a spiritual rock. This kund has been named after Narad Muni, who is believed to have written the Narada Bhakti Sutra at this spot. The hot water in the kund has medicinal properties that are said to cure many skin diseases.
