A picturesque spot nestled amidst lush green surroundings, Charpa Waterfalls is a scenic tourist stopover. Located in the Athirappilly district of Thrissur, visitors come here while going to the Athirappilly and Vazhachal falls. This impressive waterfall cascades down from a height of more than 700 ft and falls in seven stages, each of which forms a pool at the base. Originating from River Chalakudy, which flows furiously along the roadside, the falls is a great picnic spot, where tourists can indulge in some serene sightseeing. The waterfalls looks particularly enchanting during monsoons when low clouds hand over it giving it a misty aura. The surrounding areas complement this with an emerald green vibrancy. Visitors should not forget to tote their cameras as they are likely to chance upon some impressive shots.
