One of the major crowd pullers of Silvassa, Tribal Museum is located at the heart of the city and displays the rich heritage of various tribal groups of the region. A visit to the museum allows you to get acquainted with diverse tribes, their origin and their evolution over the course of time. The museum walls are adorned with bows, daggers, spears and other hunting equipment and fighting weapons used by the tribal communities. The museum displays pictures and clay sculptures depicting the life of tribals, wedding costumes, handmade ornaments, daily use utensils and pictures of celebration of different tribal festivals. The museum also exhibits musical instruments ranging from tarpha or parvi to dhol and madal. One can also see handmade masks of mythological characters, puppets and dolls. Fishing equipment has also been put on display at the museum. The museum remains open from 9 am to 5 pm everyday.
