A centre for water sports, especially whitewater rafting, Kaudiyala is a scenic town, nestled among dense forests on the Rishikesh-Badrinath route. It is situated at an elevation of about 480 m above sea level and is a mere 40 km from Rishikesh. Kaudiyala finds popularity among adventure seekers as it marks the start of the challenging white river rafting course to Shivpuri (about 22 km away).

The landscape comprises beautiful beaches, which make for an ideal camping site, along with other sports like beach volleyball, rappelling and rock climbing. One can take a cosy respite from the adventures of the day by sitting by a bonfire at night and listening to relaxing music. The best time to enjoy Kaudilaya's adventures are from March to June and from September to November.
