The main Bazaar Road of Leh is a great place to pick up souvenirs, woollen clothing, pashmina shawls, and other knick-knacks. Other local speciality products include Buddhist thangka paintings that are made on silk, Tibetan choktse tables, prayer wheels and Buddhist masks. Turquoise jewellery and other exquisite trinkets are sold in the main Bazaar Road too. Tibetan Handicraft Emporium is a very good place to pick up handicrafts.

The Buddhist Thangka House offers a variety of colourful thangka paintings. Thangka paintings do not only have aesthetic value but are also immensely useful for meditative purposes. In the past, they were even used as teaching devices by monks! The Tibetan Market features stalls by Tibetan people who sell everything from jewellery and clothing to bags and purses. Don't forget to stock up on apricots in Leh. Local cheese, apricot oil, and jam can also be purchased from Bazaar Road and Shar Market. Gol Market in Leh is worth a visit too. Handwoven carpets and rugs also make for great buys from these markets.
