Nyoma is a cold and temperate village in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated on the bank of Indus river and experiences heavy rainfall in the monsoons. At a distance of 147 km from Leh, it is a challenge to reach the village but it is absolutely worth it. Your best bet for visiting Nyoma is on a day trip to Chumathang from Leh. The village is the perfect place to stroll around and drink in the pretty sights that Leh has to offer. You can take quiet, long walks and interact with the friendly locals. There is also a small Buddhist monastery here that you can visit. Tiny but decorated lavishly it is extremely soothing for the eyes. Nyoma is equally beautiful whether soaking in rain with colours melting everywhere or when it is windy and the terrain is a challenge to climb.
