Adjacent to Kurukshetra, Thanesar is an archaeologically important site, a short trip away from the city. The museum is home to many important excavations carried out by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which have revealed the history of the region. Some of the interesting exhibits include stones and terracotta sculptures, coins, ornaments and ritualistic objects among others.
