A high altitude cold desert cut by a gentle stream, sand dunes merging with green poplar trees and a stunning landscape framed by picturesque bare mountains - this is Nubra Valley in a nutshell. While pages may have been written about the beauty of Nubra Valley's unique Hunder region, it is a magical land that can't be captured in words! Hunder is home to vast stretches of sand dunes and the Shyok river. Perched at an elevation of about 10,000 ft, Hunder is bordered by snow-clad mountains that present a picturesque backdrop to the arid but mesmerising landscape. The dunes are home to the Bactrian double-humped camels, who, according to folklore, were used by traders transversing the ancient Silk Route. The famous Pashmina goats also call Hunder their home.

Once you cross the pass, stop at the green Khardung village, known for its large population of yaks.
