ABOUT THE

Attraction

Also known as Bedsa, these caves are said to be almost 2,300 years old and were supposed to have been used by Buddhist monks as shelter during the rainy season. Considered to be among the oldest caves in the region, the complex primarily includes two caves with numerous rock-cut beds. Legends say these caves were turned into shelters by king Ashoka. Pilgrims also visit the nearby Bhaja and Karla caves.

These caves are located 40 km from Pune.
