Brijrama Palace, Varanasi


The story of BrijRama Palace dates back to 1812 whenShridhara Narayana Munshi, from the Royal House of Nagpur,built this imposing structure on the banks of the Gangesto serve as a fort. It was then acquired by the Maharaja Saheb ofDharbhanga i.e. Rameshwar Singh Bahadur, in the early 20th centurywho christened it as Dharbhanga Mahal.In its current avatar, BrijRama Palace continues to celebrate the glory of being the oldest heritage building on the banks of theriver Ganga while speaking a language that also resonates with themodern world traveller.
