FOOD IN TAWANG

  • Bamboo Shoot


    It is the traditional delicacy of Arunanchal Pradesh. The delicate and flavourful dish is made from tender bamboo shoot, baking soda, fenugreek seeds, red chilli powder and salt. It is cooked in mustard oil to enhance its aroma and flavour.

  • Dal (Lentil) and Eggs


    The dish is prepared with three grains masoor dal, moong dal and afar dal. Turmeric powder, onions, tomatoes, garlic, salt and chillies for gravy and taste; then the hard boiled eggs are put in the dal before serving.

  • Fish stew


    The fishing opportunities make it the land of fish delicacies. The main ingredients of this fish soup are chilli-garlic paste, leafy green vegetables, dried red chilli, fish, sugar and salt. It can be eaten as a soup and a main course dish with boiled rice.

  • KoatPitha (Banana pitha)


    As the name says it is made from bananas preferably ripened which are mashed and mixed with jaggery. The remaining ingredients are rice flour, sieved and mustard oil to deep fry it.

  • Panch Phoron Tarkaari


    The local delicacy is prepared from mixing vegetables with cold milk and spices. It has a unique taste and ingredients which are pumpkin, potatoes, dry chillies, fenugreek seeds, aniseed, cumin seeds, green chillies, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, cold milk, sugar and salt.
