The former capital of Mayurbhanj State was founded by Maharaja Harihar Bhanj in the year 1400 A.D. The magnificent brick temple of Rasikaraya is regarded as a vestige of the glorious deeds of the Bhanjs. A little north of the courtyard of Rsikaraya, lies the ruins of Ranihansapura or the inner apartment of the queen. Close by stands the brick made rectangular temple of Radhamohan. The temple of Jagannath also stands nearby, which is built in Goudiya style of architecture during the reign of Harihara Bhanja.
