Ghanteswari Temple is situated 33 kilometers (21 mi) southwest of the district capital Sambalpur on the bank of Mahanadi River. The presiding deity of the place is Ghanteswari after whom the place is named. As the name indicates there's bells and bells and bells wherever your eyes reach, the only temple of its kind in Odisha. People offer bells to goddess Ghanteswari or the Deity of Bells, after fulfillment of their wishes. There are thousands of bells of different size and shape hanging here and there which are producing tinkling sound due to the wind heard from a distance. This is the uniqueness of this place.
