Spend a day near the calm waters of Budhapara Lake. Built by King Brahmadei, the Kalchuri Emperor around 1404 AD, the alluring waters of this lake evoke sense of peace and serenity. You can sit on the banks of this river and just gaze at the beautiful nature and the waters of the lake flowing smoothly. The lake also makes for a great picnic spot to visit with friends and family. Named after the great Swami Vivekananda, a renowned Indian philosopher, the great Swami Vivekananda used to live in the vicinity of this lake during his stay in Raipur. There was a particular spot near this lake that is said to have been his favourite spot for meditation. A 37 feet high statue has been recently installed in a garden close to the lake. The place is a popular boating spot in Raipur.
