Pragpur is a small town located in the Kangra Valley and is situated at an average elevation of 610 meters above sea level. It is considered the best location to explore the Kangra valley and is a popular tourist destination. The climate of the town is pleasant throughout the year and is also a popular pilgrim destination.
Pragpur was declared as a Heritage Village in 1997 by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The twin villages of Garli- Pragpur were later declared Heritage Regions in the year 2002.
Gaggal is the nearest airport around 30 km away. Pathankot being another airport some 100 km away. By train, it is connected by the narrow gauge Kangra Railway, that starts at Pathankot.
