Barda Wildlife Sanctuary

BARDA LION SANCTUARY

The Barda Wildlife Sanctuary, about 15 km from Porbandar, was once a private forest of the ex-princely State of Ranavav (Porbandar) and Jamnagar. It is inhabited by the Lion, Wild Boar, Panther, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Neelgai, and Monkeys. It is also abundant in floral diversity, including a good number of medicinal plants. The hilly terrain with patches of flat plains at places, the crisscrossing of numerous rivulets and streams and existing dams add to the beauty of the sanctuary.
