The five hills surrounding Panchgani near Mahabaleshwar are topped by a volcanic plateau, which is the second highest in Asia after the Tibetan plateau. These plateaus, alternatively known as "table land", are a part of the Deccan Plateau and were raised by pressure between the earth plates. Adventure and photography enthusiasts come here, especially during the monsoon months for spectacular views and the amazing outdoors. Many a Bollywood movies have been filmed on the Table Land. Panchgani is also famous for Strawberry cultivation, renowned Public Schools , Mapro & Mala Jams.
