NAGGAR

Naggar is an ancient town situated on the banks of the mighty River Beas at an altitude of 1851m. This ancient town commands an amazing view, especially to the Northwest of the valley. Naggar was the former capital of Kullu and founded by Raja Visudhpal and continued as the headquarters of his state. The capital was later transferred to Sultanpur (Kullu) by Jagat Singh in 1460 A.D. In this present day and age, Naggar is one of the most popular tourist spots in Himachal Pradesh.

MAJOR ATTRACTIONS

Naggar is easily accessible by road and is also known for numerous trout fishing places. One would also find several trekking routes here. Some of the best ones are the Chanderkhani Pass to Malana village as well as from Jalori Pass to Shimla. The river Beas offers amazing opportunities of white water rafting to adventure enthusiasts.
