A hillock believed to have been held aloft in the air by Lord Krishna on his finger for 7 days and nights to protect the people of Brij from rains. Therefore, it is believed to be one of the most fortunate mountains where Lord Krishna forever wanders and bestows his love and joy to his devotees. Thus, it is a belief that if one circumambulates the mountain just once he is expiated from all sins. On the summit of Govardhan hill is a temple built in 1520 by Vallabhacharya.
