The park was established in the year 1972 with the intention to preserve endangered reptile species in the sub-continent. Situated next to the Guindy National Park, the Snake Park is a popular spot. It houses a variety of snakes such as the king cobra, pythons, vipers, and other reptiles. There is also information about different types of snakes and the common misconceptions surrounding them are cleared. The adjacent Children’s Park is a play park.
