A beautiful spot, this is where the river Kaveri splits into multiple waterfalls. These waterfalls are known as the Hogenakkal Falls (in Kannada Hoge and Kal, Smoking rocks). The place is so magnificent and beautiful that the place has been termed as ‘The Niagara Falls of India’ and is often the back drop for many a film. Hogenakkal is 180 km from Bangalore and falls in the District of Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. The water from the Hogenakkal flows towards the Stanley Reservoir of Mettur Dam which is 73 km.
