Sree Venkatachalapathy Temple
Built in 1822, the shrine of the Gowda Saraswat Brahmins, originally from Karnataka. The deity of this temple is Sree Venkatachalapathy. The architectural style of the temple is similar to Tamil Nadu style temples not Kerala style temples. Unlike other temples, the deities in the sanctum sanctorum are placed on 3 steps. Offerings made to the deity include: puliyodarai (tamarind rice), dhadhyodanam (curd rice), pongal, charkkarai pongal, elloodarai (Sesame Rice) and Kheer. The large aviary here is noted for numerous pigeons.
