The crisp and spicy Bhadang is a favourite snack of the people of Maharashtra. The dish must be eaten instantly to enjoy its crispness. Its major ingredients are puffed rice, peanuts, onion-garlic chutney, asafetida, curry eaves, sugar, red chilli and salt etc.
Kandi Pedha is made with milk powder, evaporated milk, ghee and sugar. The sweet delicacy is relished by both locals and tourists.
Misal is a spicy dish made of moth beans (Turkish gram) mixed sprouts served with Pav (bread).
This Kolhapuri mutton gravy dish made either red ( Tambda) or white ( Pandhra) gravy is made from marinated mutton pieces, local spices and a special Kolhapuri masala. It is prepared with gravy which can be relished with rice or bread.
Boiled potato stuffing dipped in gram flour batter and deep fried is served in a bun or a bread slice.
