It is situated in the valley below Dharamsala. Built according to the traditional Tibetan style, the institute promotes the traditional arts and literary studies of Tibet. It houses many Tibetan students who learn the arts and crafts of Tibet and ensure they are kept alive. Landmarks include the towering Seat of Happiness Temple against a background of the Dhauladhar mountain range, and the Losel Doll Museum. There is a lovely comfortable guesthouse and café within the premises, away from the humdrum of tourists and noisy crowds.
