The name comes from the tigers that roamed during the days of the British. Prompting the British to name it Tiger Hill. Later it became a cemetery where the British used to bury the dead. To go to Tiger Hill one needs to go to Upper Coonoor also called Bedford by city bus or taxi. The drive to Tiger Hill is very picturesque. From Bedford one needs to come down to the Darlington Bridge. From Darlington bridge it leads to the Tantea tea estate plantations and further to the hill. One gets a grand view from the hill.
