  • Dosa

    A shallow fried pancake dish made from rice and black gram. The semi-liquid batter for these ingredients is prepared and spread with a ladle on a flat pan (with oil) and fried crisp. It is stuffed with boiled and sauted potatoes and served with sambar and coconut chutney.

  • Idli

    A savoury dish made from semolina or rice. These appear like white pancakes, but vegetables and spices can be added to make it more colourful and flavourful. It can relished coconut chutney and Sambar.

  • Sambar

    A traditional South-Indian stew made from lentils, tamarind and seasoned vegetables. It is relished with boiled rice or Idli or Uthapam or Dosa as a side dish. Sambar enhance the taste of its side dishes. It is also enjoyed with rice.

  • South Indian Dishes

    Authentic south Indian dishes like Idlis, Dosas, Vadas, Uthappam and Sambar are the local favourites. There are restaurants that serve traditional vegetarian or non-vegetarian dishes on banana leaves.

  • Uthappam

    Another savoury item made from rice flour and lentils. It is prepared with a semi-solid batter which is spread on a flat pan and topped with fresh and crispy onions or vegetables. It is relished with Sambar.

  • Vada

    A deep-fried savoury item made from lentils. These delights are deep fried golden-brown and served with Sambar, a traditional south Indian stew. It is served at roadside eateries to big hotels and restaurants.
