Bokaro Steel City, often referred as the City of Scholars, is among the main industrial cities in Jharkhand and one of the most industrialized zones in India. It was formerly part of the Manbhum District of East India during the British Raj. It houses the largest steel plant in India along with many other large, medium and small industries. Planned and conceived in 1959, the Bokaro Steel Plant employs thousands of people and the cosmopolitan town is home to all of them. The city has benefitted from organised planning and execution, throughout. Among Bokaro's many attractions are its lush green environment and quaint township features.

It is renowned for its engineering prodigies! Among the popular tourist attractions is the famous Garga Dam - surrounded by lush environs, it is the perfect picnic spot for families from far and near. The Nehru Biological Park is famed for housing the rare White Tiger, the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Asiatic Lion. Among the many places of worship, the Jagannath Temple is famous and admired for its architectural splendour.

Bokaro Steel City is a railway station on the Gomoh-Muri branch line and Adra-Bokaro Steel City branch line. It is located in Bokaro district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
