Gokak Falls

GOKAK FALLS

It is here that the Ghataprabha River winds its way serenely before plummeting over a sandstone cliff of 52 m. The falls with a horseshoe shape at the crest has a breadth of 177 m. On the banks of the rocky gorge of these falls are a few ancient Chalukyan monuments and temples of Shanmukha, Mahalingeshwara, and Durga. Gokak Road is the nearest railway station
