Celebrated all over the world as the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, Eid Milad un -Nabi is an important festival of Muslims. On this day, people come together to remember and pay their respect to Prophet Mohammad and his teachings. It is also called Navi day. During the festival, people exchange sweets, especially honey that is believed to have been a favourite of the Prophet. People indulge in night-long prayers, take out marches and parades, participate in communal meals in mosques and visit exhibitions featuring pictures of mosques in Mecca and Medina, considered to be holy cities.
