Started by Rajasthan Tourism in 2008, Abhaneri Festival is among the most vibrant celebrations in the state. It brings to life the myriad diversity of the state and highlights the best it has to offer in terms of dense national parks, heritage hotels, opulent museums, luxury trains, sumptuous cuisine and uncountable fairs and festivals the state plays host to. In short, all the colours of the state come into the melting pot of Abhaneri.

Some of the unmissable highlights of the festival are:

Kacchi Ghodi Dance
This dance is performed by men on dummy horses, carrying swords and singing of the heroism of Bavaria bandits of Shekhawati. The dancers also perform daring acts like playing with fire. The beating of drums, lively music and upbeat tunes, all come together to make the performance a memorable one.

Camel Cart Rides
Bedecked camels pulling a miniature cart draped with colourful cloths, and walking along the stretching desert are an iconic sight.

Exhibitions and shopping
An array of the best of Rajasthan's cultural delights, from handicrafts to ethnic curios, are put on display. You can take choicest picks and explore more in the bazaars.

Puppet Shows
An authentic Rajsthani entertainment, puppet shows give a peek into the rich folk of the state.

Bhawai Dance
This is one of the more astounding dance performances done by the women of the state. Dressed in traditional ghagra-choli (a skirt and blouse), silver armlets and neckpieces, the women dance while balancing a pile of pots on their heads.
