The Kasu Bramhananda Reddy National Park or KBR Park is a wildlife wonder located in the Banjara and Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. It has been named after the former Chief Minister of the state. Spread across 156 hectare, it was established in 1994 in order to preserve the biodiversity of the area. As many as 20 species of reptiles, 13 species of birds, 15 species of butterflies, 20 species of mammals and 600 species of trees find a home here. The park is also the location of the beautiful Chittan Palace and other historical structures.

 

The entire area earlier belonged to the Nizam of Hyderabad and has come under the forest department since. A major highlight of the park is the Chiran Palace, which is the residence of the prince. Spread over an area of 6,000 sq m, it was built in 1960.
