Sights to See
The Fort
The Fort situated on an elevated ground, and has a palace inside. Two life-sized elephants built in mortar catch the eye as one enters the fort.
Sri Omkareswara Temple
Towards the end of November, a colourful temple festival is held here when the deity is taken in a boat round the tank.
Abbi Falls
'Abbi' in Kodagu dialect means falls. It was formerly called the Jessey Falls.
Raja's Tombs (Cuddige)
The last two Rajas of Coorg are buried here.
Stuart's Hill or Stone Hill
One can have a magnificent view of the surrounding valley.
Raja's Seat
This commands a beautiful view of the Coorg Valley studded with paddy
fields and forests, with the blue mountain ranges of the Western
Ghats.
Trekking
Headquartered in Madikeri the Coorg Wildlife Society (Tel: 08272 228019) promotes environmental conservation and organises trek to Pushpagiri, Brahmagiri and other areas of Coorg.
