Sardar Vallabhai Patel Police Museum
The only one of its kind in India, the museum is home to human bones, weaponry, charts and diagrams detailing DNA fingerprinting, medals, police arms of the previous centuries, photos of police dogs etc. The Martyr’s gallery is the major attraction.

Thevally Palace
Overlooking the beautiful Ashtamudi Lake, the building was built between 1811 and 1819 during the reign of Gauri Parvathy Bai.  Standing on a promontory in central Kollam, the palace was earlier the headquarters of the NCC.

Backwaters Picnic Village
Picnic Village Kollam at Ashramam along the backwater front is a hub of entertainment. A two century old Government Guest House, a Tourist Boat Club, an adventure park, a Children's Traffic Park and a Yatri Nivas offer accommodation and entertainment facilities in the village. A major attraction of the place is the Paramparya museum housing beautiful paintings including Warli, Kalamkari, Madhubani and Kerala mural art. The District Tourism Promotion Council organizes regular backwater cruises in houseboats, speedboats and luxury boats from the Boat Club.

Sree Venkatachalapathy Temple
Built in 1822, the shrine is the southernmost temple of the Gowda Saraswat Brahmins, originally from Karnataka. Unlike in other temples, the deities in the sanctum sanctorum here are placed on 3 steps. A large aviary is noted for numerous pigeons.
