The Lakshmi Vilas Palace
Lakshmi Vilas Palace was built in the Indo-Saracenic tradition, with an eclectic mix of Indian, Islamic, and European elements. The palace grounds include a golf course and Sayajirao's personal museum, containing, among other displays, original paintings by Raja Ravi Varma.
One of the famous landmarks of the city, Nayay Mandir is an architectural wonder.
Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum
A major attraction of Vadodara, Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum has a collection of works of art collected by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. You can also find works by renowned 19th-century painter Raja Ravi Varma.
Built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1936, the Kirti Mandir is a memorial to the deceased members of the Gaekwad family. The murals of the cenotaph are painted by famous painter from Bengal Nandalal Bose.
Located in the outskirts of the Vadodara city the Makarpura Palace is designed in an Indo-Italianate style. Once the residence of the ruling Gaekwad family, the palace is now being used as a training school for the Indian Air Force. The building is not open to the public. Still, the striking 3-storey Italian Renaissance structure is worth peeping at from the outside.
