The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) preserves a number of musical, dance and theatrical traditions of Tibet.
The Norbulingka Institute
It is situated in the valley below Dharamsala. Build according to traditional Tibetan style, the institute promotes the traditional arts and literary studies of Tibet. Landmarks include the Seat of Happiness Temple and the Losel Dance Museum.
St. John’s Church
Lying in the forest between McLeod Ganj and Forsyth Ganj, the place has a monument dedicated to Lord Elgin, one of the Viceroys of India.
The memorial commemorates the memory of those who fought valiantly the defence of the motherland.
Tibetan Medical and Astro Institute
This Institute has in its premises a hospital where ill and destitute people are treated free of charge, an out-patient clinic, a Medical and Astrological College, a Research Department carrying out modern clinical research on Tibetan traditional methods of cure, an Astronomical and Astrology Department, a pharmacy where more than 200 different medicines are made in the traditional way with herbs, gems, metals and minerals as well as a museum displaying various raw drugs, surgical instruments, medical and astrological charts.
It is the nerve center of the town, the Dalai Lama's residence. The temple is said to be a replica of the original Tsuglakhang, the main temple in Lhasa
